Originally produced for the late-British retailer Oi Polloi in 2014, the adidas SPZL Ardwick returns to celebrate the line's 10th anniversary.
Since 2014 the Ardwick's iconic colours of green and black have been replicated, so the SPZL team differentiated things by changing the foxing to a chocolate brown. The tongue branding was changed to complement and bring them closer to the vintage adidas California they were based on. The stripes on the new version use flocking and the cotton laces have been replaced with sportier synthetic. The toe box overlay has been reworked and branding has been added to the sock liner.
Like the original shoe these use reversed leather which takes dye differently, creating slight colour variation between every pair of shoes. The SPZL team decided to stay with this as it subtly individualises each pair.
